Grammy's Thumbprint Cookies
Ingredients

6 or 7 tablespoons, Hero Swiss Preserves…any flavor…Strawberry, Raspberry, Black Cherry or Apricot work well
· ½ cup butter, softened (allow to sit at room temperature until soft)
· 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
· ¾ teaspoon vanilla
· “big pinch” salt
· 1 cup all purpose flour

Cooking Instructions

Heat oven to 400 degrees.
· Place butter, sugar, vanilla and salt in a medium size mixing bowl and beat with electric beater until smooth and well blended. Add flour and beat just until dough is blended.
· Divide dough into 18 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
· Place dough balls 1 inch apart on a large, ungreased baking sheet.
· Using your thumb, press each dough ball in the center and indent enough to hold the preserves.
· Spoon preserves into the “thumb print” of each cookie.
· Put baking sheet into preheated oven and bake until cookies turn a light golden brown around the edges.
· Transfer cookies to a rack to cool.
· Put baking sheet into preheated oven and bake about 7 minutes, or until
cookies turn a light golden brown around the edges.

Yield: 18 Cookies
Bake time: 7 minutes
